Established in 2022, DMMU Khonsa serves as the district-level mission office for the TCL region, covering Tirap, Changlang, and Longding districts. Initially supervised by DMMU Roing, a full-fledged team was inducted in October 2024. The office is based at the DRDA building, Khonsa HQ, and oversees 20 BMMUs across challenging terrain and diverse tribal communities.

The region is inhabited by tribes such as the Wancho, practicing traditional livelihoods like jhum cultivation, wood carving, and bead making. With over 20,265 households in its reach, DMMU Khonsa is implementing ArSRLM’s core pillars—livelihoods, financial inclusion, social empowerment, and capacity building.

Through 2555 SHGs and 207 PLFs, the mission has fostered entrepreneurship, financial literacy, and women's empowerment. SHG members now actively access entitlements, run microenterprises, and contribute to social initiatives such as elder care and health awareness. Literacy gains among women and confidence in public engagement are among the visible community transformations.
